Photos from Niger Delta 1999/2000 during the height of the “Obasanjo” crisis. Ijawland, Egiland, Isokoland, Ogoniland were all under crisis. The photos form part of my research on state and multinational violence against women in the Niger Delta. Testimonies of Women are both acts of resistance and acts of solidarity. The women writing in the Testimonies are all part of the communities of suffering and resistance that exist throughout the world. Although the testimonies of the women cannot reproduce the tears, the sadness and pain that accompanied their words, there is no doubt as to the uncompromising strength and courage of our sisters wherever they may be.
